What the words mean
Metals
- 14k gold-filled
- A thick layer of real 14k gold bonded over a core metal. It looks and wears like gold and lasts for years with care.
- Sterling silver
- Solid .925 silver all the way through.
- Gold chain + silver sparkle
- On the gold chains, the sparkling part (the wave or the wavy line) is set in sterling silver, because tiny stones are set in silver. The chain itself is gold-filled.
Stones
- Clear stones
- Cubic zirconia (CZ): a lab-made crystal that sparkles like diamond.
- Sky blue stones
- Light blue CZ.
- Clear-to-blue stones
- Clear stones that fade into sky blue along the piece ("Mista").
- Lab-grown diamonds
- Real diamonds, grown in a lab instead of mined.
- Plain (no stones)
- Smooth, polished metal.
- Pavé
- A jeweller’s word for small stones set close together.
Jewelry care
Put jewelry on after perfume and lotion. Take it off to swim or shower. Wipe it with a soft dry cloth, and keep each piece separate so chains don't tangle.
Sizing
- Necklaces: 16–18" chain.
- Onda Studs: about 6 mm. Marea Studs: about 9 × 2.5 mm.
- Mare Pavé Huggies: 8–9 mm. Onda Hoops: about 15 mm.
- Onda Cuff: open at the back, about 2.5–3 mm thick. Marea Bangle: about 2.5 mm thick.
